My younger sister stayed at our house last month while we were away on vacation, and she had to take our dog to the animal emergency clinic when he swallowed a small toy. He ended up being just fine after some treatment and observation, but I knew that it was stressful for my sister. I ordered some new thank you cards and filled one out, and also gave her a bouquet of her favorite flowers. She laughed and said that sisters do those kinds of things for one another, but I could tell that she was touched at the gesture. She is one in a million!
