To preserve the dress, you need to put it inside a box or a bag specially designed to keep the gown, on its perfect condition. It means that the dress should be kept away from dust, insects as well as dirty hands. In choosing a box or container, never use a plastic. Plastic emits harmful substances which can damage your wedding dress, called bruidsjurk in Flandres. In this case, a paper box or bag is more advisable. But you should always remember that no paper can stay long as acid free. Change the cardboard being used in every five years. If the paper has reached more than five years, there is a great tendency for it to decay.
