I remember when I was little that my dad played the guitar all the time.  One of my fondest memories was him playing songs around the campfire whenever we would go camping.  He is gone now but recently I found his old guitar in some old things of his.  I  thought my son might like it so I showed it to him.  He really liked the idea of having something of his Grandfather’s and wondered if he might be able to find some free guitar lessons so he could learn to play also.  He seems to show a great affinity for music so perhaps we will have music by the campfire once again.

I always send an email to my nephew Tyner saying how many days he has left until his birthday and saying that if he has any special requests that he should email me back.  Tynan usually writes back and says that he will love whatever I get him, but that he really can not think of a thing he needs.  This year he actually sent me a link to a certain website where it showed me a chicken picking guitar demonstration.  Tyner said that he really is dying to learn how to play this sort of music, and he already has a guitar he loves that I gave him last year!

When we are going to talk about fights and wars, one of the well known weapons that people are using are those canons and guns. Born in 1902, my granny was a force to be reckoned with. She had outlived many of her friends, my grandfather, and even (sadly) a daughter (my aunt.) The wall of her stairwell was tightly tiled with black and white family photographs, all stately and elegant, in gorgeous hand cared frames and all reminiscent of eremarks and palpable happiness.

Her new york wedding photo album is something she often takes out and shows us, never when food is on the table, or any coffee that can spill on it, but when we are together and in need of quietude and appreciation.
